Also of interest is the fact that of the 43 legislators who received money from U.S. India PAC in the 2006 election cycle, only 5 voted against H.R. 5682, which was strongly supported by U.S. India PAC. Those 5 are Representatives Earl Blumenauer, Jim McDermott, James Oberstar, and Diane Watson, and Senator Edward Kennedy.

Furthermore, 7 of those 43 legislators introduced H.R. 5682. An additional 5 cosponsored the bill. Of those 12, 5 received additional donations from U.S. India PAC after the passage of H.R. 5682. And of the 43, another 4 also received donations after their "Aye" votes on the ultimately successful bill. The only logical conclusion is that the votes and support of many American legislators are for sale.
